The snowfall recorded during the month of March and the work of the track preparation teams at the Ferrocarrils tourist facilities allow us to ensure an Easter with the resorts open until April 21.
Among the proposals are the Easter Egg Gymkhana in La Molina and Vall de Núria, the musical Vermut in Vallter and the parties to bid farewell to the season in Espot Esquí, Port Ainé and Boí Taüll.
The six ski and mountain resorts managed by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) are facing the final stretch of the winter season with unbeatable conditions, thanks to the abundant snowfall recorded during the month of March and the constant work of the technical teams of the slopes. Vallter, Espot, Port Ainé and Boí Taüll will be open until Monday 21 April; La Molina and Vall de Núria, until Sunday 20.
This is the detail of the state and the activities offered by each resort:
La Molina
In the Eastern Pyrenees, La Molina offers a spring quality of snow, ideal for skiing these days, with maximum thicknesses of 130 cm at high altitudes. Skiers and snowboarders will be able to enjoy 37 skiable kilometers spread over 36 open slopes. In addition, 7 ski lifts will be in operation to facilitate access to the slopes and the connection with the Masella resort will remain open for those who want to enjoy an even more extensive ski area. During Easter, the resort's opening hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
As for the events on Saturday, April 12, the Solell slope will be the stage for the Open Torrent Challenge, a competition open to everyone. On Friday, April 18, families and groups of friends will be the clear protagonists of the 9th Easter Eggs Gymkhana, in which they will have to find colors hidden around the resort to be able to paint Easter eggs. It will be a day full of prizes and surprises. Saturday will be the turn of the Clubs' Day and the Seasonal Ski Passes and, finally, on Sunday 20 April, the 9th TriSnow La Molina - Memorial Carles Adern will close the winter season with a spectacular winter triathlon race, which will allow participants to say goodbye to the snow and welcome spring mountain activities. In addition, visitors will be able to enjoy other activities, such as the Gondola Ride, the Tree Adventure Park, the Fauna Route, among others.
Boí Taüll
Located in Alta Ribagorça, Boí Taüll arrives at Easter with exceptional conditions, offering its visitors almost all of the open slopes. With spring-quality snow and thicknesses that reach 250 cm at the highest elevations, the resort guarantees an unforgettable experience for winter sports lovers. Skiers will be able to enjoy 40 open slopes and a total of 40 skiable kilometers, which represent 87% of the skiable area. In addition, 9 ski lifts will be in operation to facilitate access to the slopes. The Fun Zone and the Toboggan Zone will be open every day, except Monday 21. The hours until Sunday 20 April will be from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, with the last lift going up at 4:15 pm. On Monday 21, the resort will be open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The resort with the highest elevations in the Pyrenees will bid farewell to the winter season with a party at the foot of the slopes, full of music, entertainment and an Après Ski Session. It will be the perfect opportunity to squeeze in the last moments in the snow and welcome spring.
Port Ainé
In Port Ainé, in Pallars, skiers will find a perfect environment to enjoy to the fullest with thicknesses of up to 270 cm at the highest altitudes. 100% of the slopes will be open, totaling 26.7 skiable kilometers. From April 12th until Sunday, April 20th, the hours will be from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, last climb at 2:30 pm. On Monday, the 21st, the resort will be open from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, last climb at 1:30 pm. The Leisure Park will be open every day from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
During these spring days, the resort will have activities for the whole family. On April 12th, at altitude 2000, a fun Ski Splash will be held with music to liven up the day. On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13, children's workshops will be offered, one for crafts and another for face painting, on the hotel terrace, both at 12:00 pm. In addition, on April 18, the entertainment team at Hotel Port Ainé 2000 will prepare a workshop and a special gymkhana for the little ones, where they can decorate and paint their own Easter eggs. The activity will take place on the terrace of Hotel Port Ainé at 12:00 pm. And to say goodbye to the season in the best way, on Saturday 19 April the End of Season will be held, a final party with surprises and fun for all attendees, which will feature a Hawaiian descent in swimsuits on the Lo Gall Fer children's circuit at 11:00 am, where you can immortalize the moment with a photocall. Afterwards, at 12:30 pm, all those who have participated will be able to enjoy a prize draw and a vermouth on the hotel terrace.
Espot Esquí
The other Pallaresa resort of FGC, Espot Esquí, also has very good conditions for practicing winter sports. With spring snow quality and thicknesses of up to 200 cm at the highest elevations, it ensures an exceptional experience on the slopes. With 20 open runs, skiers will be able to enjoy 24 skiable kilometers, that is, almost 100% of the resort, and will have 4 ski lifts to facilitate their travel.
These days, the facilities will be open from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm (last ascent) and the resort will close at 2:00 pm. In addition, the Leisure Park will continue to operate on weekends and during Easter (from 17 to 20 April), from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Cafeteria 2000 will offer service from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm.
To bid farewell to the season, on Friday 18 April the resort will celebrate the End of Season, a final party with a fun Hawaiian descent in swimsuits on the Lo Cabirol children's circuit, followed by a photocall and a prize draw and vermouth on the terrace of the cafe.
Vall de Núria
The Ripollesa resort of Vall de Núria, a mountain tourist destination open 365 days a year, is presenting an Easter with excellent conditions to enjoy the high mountains. With spring-quality snow and thicknesses of up to 90 cm at the highest elevations, it will have 100% of the slopes open, as well as the Leisure Park. In addition, the 5 ski lifts will be in operation to facilitate access to the entire ski area. The ski resort's opening hours will be from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
In Vall de Núria, Easter is full of unique experiences for the whole family. On the 12th, 13th, 19th and 20th, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy rides with a retractor machine on the emblematic slopes of Finestrelles, Alberg and Eina. On Saturday 12, nature lovers can take part in a snowshoe excursion to discover the rich ornithological fauna of the valley, and at dusk, they can venture out on a night snowshoeing trip under the light of the full moon. In addition, from the 18th to the 20th, a weekend of discovery of the surroundings will be organized, with guided excursions to explore the secrets of the nature and culture of Núria. And on Saturday 19, the traditional Easter egg hunt will transform the surroundings of the Sanctuary into a fun scene, followed by an egg decoration workshop to close the celebration. In addition, every Saturday there will be hot chocolate for everyone.
Vallter
In the easternmost Pyrenees, Vallter offers optimal conditions for winter sports with spring snow and depths reaching 170 cm at an altitude of 2500 m. During Easter, visitors will be able to enjoy 11 open slopes, totaling 10.7 skiable kilometres, and will have 8 lifts to access the entire resort area. In addition, the toboggan run will be open every day.
During Easter, the Vallter resort will adapt its opening hours to offer the best service. On Thursday 17 April and Monday 21 April, the resort will open its doors from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with the last lift up at 2:45 pm. On Friday 18, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20, the opening hours will be extended, opening at 8:30 am and also closing at 3:00 pm, with the same time limit for lift up.
In terms of recreational activities, on Saturday 12 April, visitors will be able to enjoy a unique musical vermouth, where the day of skiing will be combined with the music of a DJ and an unbeatable atmosphere. On Friday 18, Vallter will host the World Sledding Championship. And, to welcome spring, on Saturday 19 April the Spring Festival will be held, with proposals for all audiences, outdoor activities and many surprises to enjoy nature and say goodbye to winter in the best possible way, all accompanied by live music from The River Clan. Finally, on Sunday 20 April the Water Fest will be organized, which will consist of crossing a large pool of water on the snow. This is an activity open to costumed skiers and snowboarders that will have a musical atmosphere and several surprises to commemorate the end of the season.
